About the Role :
- The General Manager maintains overall management of the café on a day to day basis; ensures that standards are met for service and food quality;
- and optimizes profitability while strictly adhering to Nutella’s vision, values and culture; coordinates supply of ingredients required for food preparation;
- coordinates supply of beverages; monitors and manages the tracking of daily sales and human resource records; directs, coordinates, and participates in preparation, cooking, wrapping, packing or assembling food orders;
interviews, hires and trains staff.
Main Responsibilities :
- Accomplishes café human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees;
- communicates job expectations; plans, monitors, appraises, and reviews job contributions; plans and reviews compensation actions;
enforces policies and procedures. Leads the café in improving turnover and maintaining appropriate staff level determined by Leadership.
- Achieves café operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans;
- implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends;
determining system improvements; implementing change.
Meets restaurant financial objectives by forecasting requirements; partners in preparation of an annual budget; updates budget quarterly based upon business trends and needs;
schedules expenditures; analyzes variances; initiates corrective actions.
Maintains excellent levels of customer satisfaction as rated by the Division, customer matrix (which may include mystery shops, café calls or online contacts).
Empowers staff to satisfy customer needs and fix issues as they arise to avoid further customer impact.
- Deploys and executes menu updates with direction from Nutella division management; estimates food costs and profits.
- Controls costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation; minimizes waste; ensures high quality of preparation.
- Avoids legal challenges by conforming to the regulations applicable laws, regulations and requirements specific to the restaurant industry.
- Partners with corporate to publicize the restaurant; Works within the community to hold social events and potential fundraising partnerships at the restaurant.
Is the café leader in developing catering opportunities and plans for out-of-café sales growth.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures;
- complies with legal regulations; secures revenues; develops and implements risk management plans; maintains security and sprinkler systems;
maintains parking lot and walkways.
Maintains ambiance by controlling lighting, background music, glassware, dinnerware, and utensil quality and placement;
monitors food presentation and service.
Who we are looking for :
- General knowledge of restaurant management principles / practices
- At least 3 years’ relevant experience with fast casual restaurant operations or relevant leadership experience
- A least 3 years’ experience in management in restaurant operations is preferred
- Working knowledge of applicable health and safety codes, food / beverage codes
- Working knowledge of payroll systems and processes for restaurants
- Working knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations
- Demonstrated P&L reporting skills
- Ability to learn new tools and systems used in restaurant accounting and purchasing
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision
- Ability to work independently or as a member of the team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
