SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Work is performed under the supervision of the general manager. The director of human resources supervises HR, safety & risk management staff directly or indirectly, and may lead intra-district work groups to support employee initiatives.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
The director of human resources assists the general manager in representing the district on a variety of complex initiatives and programs by assuming a lead role in carrying out highly complex analyses, special projects and other initiatives related to personnel matters and recommending the appropriate course of action.
The director of human resources performs complex personnel services involving a variety of disciplines, including policy analyses, labor and employment law, organizational development, industry and professional best practices, and continuous change management, acting as a liaison for district management and staff.
