We are looking for a seasoned Sr. Community Events Manager to join the team! Reporting to the Head of Developer Community, this individual contributor role will drive our Community event initiatives and support the Marketing and GTM teams across a diverse range of activities.

Based out of the US, the role will encompass driving towards developer engagement, growing brand awareness, regional lead generation and pipeline goals, executing go-to-market campaigns, and other marketing functions.

A truly multidimensional position that will allow a detail oriented, proactive and outcome driven marketing professional the chance to coordinate and work alongside some of the industry’s best in the ever-changing tech space.

What You'll Be Doing :

  • Plan and execute high-quality developer events, campaigns and programs that generate developer engagement, revenue pipeline through acquiring leads, creating new sales / expansion opportunities, accelerating existing sales opportunities and deepening our relationships with customers & prospects.
  • Serve as Event Producer for large tentpole programs and external sponsored conferences.
  • Liaise with Marketing leadership and Regional Sales teams to create and execute a Community marketing plan.
  • Plan meticulously, putting it down in writing to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Documenting, tracking and reporting within a Salesforce CRM system, which will be critical to your success.
  • Interact extensively across all functional teams within DigitalOcean globally.
  • Bringing a high-energy, positive mindset every day which embodies the DigitalOcean principles.
  • Broadcast oversight across virtual & live events

What We’ll Expect From You :

  • Familiarity with event management tools, registration platforms, CRM systems, and other event technology to streamline event processes and enhance attendee experiences
  • Key candidates will have deep knowledge of the B2B SaaS and Developer events landscape as a whole, and extensive knowledge of major tentpoles and industry events
  • Oversee staffing plan and event space operations including venue selection, event staff, technical crew and necessary production partners
  • Build relationships with new and existing experiential agencies, fabrication teams and regional production vendors and are comfortable managing project budgets
  • Proven track record of successfully growing revenue pipeline with events focused on lead generation. You’re comfortable defining success metrics for an event, sharing out results and using your findings to inform future planning
  • Experience in a field marketing or demand generation role, having partnered directly with a sales team / organization.
  • Strong networking and communication skills (written / verbal / presentation) and ability to develop and maintain great stakeholder relationships.
  • Awareness of emerging trends in the local market for cloud services and ability to create and capitalize on opportunities for DO.
  • Detail-oriented and extremely organized with an ability to multi-task & prioritize tasks.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Be curious and ask questions
  • Unafraid to try something new and take calculated risks
  • Comfortable with Marketo and Salesforce platforms
  • Ideally, a proven track record in Developer / Start-up businesses.
  • Work with the marketing team to promote events through various channels, including social media, email campaigns and the company website
  • Travel required up to 25% of the year

We reward our employees. The salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $105,000 based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills.

You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance.

We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire and the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
