OSI Optoelectronics is seeking a Materials Expeditor to join their team. This individual will be responsible for setting and changing production schedules which maximize output of shipping revenue while maintaining on time delivery.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for moving material to and from the production floor in line with production planners expectations and production line requirements.
- Acts as liaison between production floor and operations.
- Maintains production status of scheduled assemblies.
- Reviews material constraints with production planning and purchasing.
- Facilitates and expedites the flow of materials to and from various departments.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Works under general supervision.
- Ability to read and understand specification documents.

- It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ years of experience in an Expeditor or similar role required.
- Knowledge of automated scheduling programs.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook) and report writing.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to calculate simple Math (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division).
- Ability to count large and small components accurately.
- Ability to use Electronic scale for weight counting, Reel counter, Personal computer, Hand truck, Material carts, Pallet Jack.
- Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in the business language (English).
- Non telecommuting position; must have a physical presence in the production area on a daily and ongoing basis
