Our Job Opening :
We are looking for a talented preschool teacher for children ages 4 and up. A typical day would include some teacher-directed instruction, many "hands-on" activities, and opportunities for child-initiated play.
4K programs are typically learning programs for four-year-old children residing within specific school districts that are located near the learning center.
Children will be enrolled in the school district's 4-year-old program but will be taught at our location. Usually, these programs are one session per day, taught in the morning.
Position is full time.
Work Environment :
You will be working in a busy and occasionally noisy environment. There can be several activities and situations happening at once, and you must supervise and provide a safe environment to all children always.
Job Type : Full-time
Pay : From $17.00 per hour
Duties
Summary of Essential Job Functions :
- Plan and implement curriculum;
- Assist in preparing breakfast and snack for children;
- Regulate rest periods;
- Redirect or initiate other measures to control behavior;
- Change diapers as needed;
- Help with dressing a child when needed;
- Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children;
- Keep organized daily sheet for each child;
- Communicate daily with parents;
- Observe and monitor children’s play activities;
- Organize and participate in recreational activities;
- Sanitize toys;
- Organize and store toys in activity areas;
- Support children’s emotional and social development;
- Set up conferences with parents 3 times per year;
- Supervision of teachers in your classroom;
- Provide leadership to assistant and part time teachers in your classroom;
- All other duties and responsibilities as determined by center management
Requirements
Minimum Requirements :
Must have a bachelors degree and a strong interest in children's education.
Desired Experience :
- Degree and / or certifications in Elementary and Early Childhood Development from a Nationally or State Accredited Institution;
- Microsoft office, Web Browser, Email, Fax.
Abilities required :
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds regularly;
- Must be able to sit down on floor to play with children;
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time;
- Must be able to attend work as required;

This position has a higher rate of pay than listed for 10 hours per week per the contract with Onalaska school district
