JOB SUMMARY :

The Lead Behavior Analyst provides behavioral oversight and supervision for BCBA’s and BCBA candidates working across residential, community, and educational settings that support children, adolescents, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and / or Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). This role ensures high-quality implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) practices in accordance with agency standards and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) guidelines.

The Lead Behavior Analyst is responsible for supervision, oversight of behavioral programming, assessment, training, and team collaboration to support the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIPs), data collection systems, and staff development. This position will also carry a smaller caseload and participate in agency-wide training and quality assurance initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • General direction is received from the Senior Director of Behavioral and Related Services. May receive guidance from the Executive Vice President or President and CEO. Collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Residential and Medical Services, Directors of Education, Director of Children’s Community Programs, and Director of Adult Community Programs, on services provided within educational, residential, and community programs.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to BCBAs and BCBA candidates, including :

o Weekly individual supervision sessions

o Monthly group supervision meetings

o Tracking clinical supervision hours

o Competency-based observations and performance reviews

  • Oversee and / or complete behavior assessments such as functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) to inform the development of individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Represent the agency in professional development and external forums and contribute to initiatives that advance the field of autism and developmental services.
  • Lead and mentor staff, fostering professional growth, accountability, and a commitment to service excellence.
  • Design, monitor, and update data collection systems to assess treatment effectiveness and client progress.
  • Review and approve behavior intervention plans, treatment goals, IP / IEP goals in accordance with clinical best practices and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct training for staff on implementation of BIPs, data collection methods, and behavior management strategies.
  • Perform treatment integrity checks and competency assessments to ensure fidelity of plan implementation.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, clinical reviews, and treatment team reviews to share progress updates and provide clinical recommendations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of BACB guidelines, code changes, and continuing education requirements; ensure supervisees are informed and in compliance.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, teachers, related services professionals, and other program staff on integrated treatment planning and documentation including family sessions, progress notes, and provider reports.
  • Monitor restraint / seclusion data and assist in decision-making regarding behavior supports and potential IEP team meetings.
  • May provide on-call support as part of the clinical rotation schedule.
  • Maintain clinical documentation, supervision logs, and reports in compliance with agency, state, and ethical standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Behavioral Services or program leadership.

    • QUALIFICATIONS :

    Education & Credentials :

  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field.
  • Certified as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Must meet or be eligible to meet BACB supervision requirements.
  • Licensed as a Behavior Analyst in the state of employment and state of service provision (if applicable).

    • Experience :

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience providing behavior analytic services, including assessment and treatment plan development.
  • Experience supervising RBTs and / or BCBA candidates in residential, educational, or community-based settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Experience with individuals with ASD, developmental disabilities, and / or behavioral challenges.

    • Skills & Competencies :

  • Ability to collaborate across programs and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and clinical leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in functional assessment, data analysis, and ABA program development.
  • Ability to deliver effective training and constructive supervision.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and data collection platforms.
