Director of New Business Development

Essential Duties :

Responsible for the identification and conversion of profitable sales volume of Epi Breads products. Reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer, the primary growth targets for this role will be defined by the Top 500 retail chain guide and with Epi Breads leadership accountable for the conversion of new business.

  • Meeting or exceeding profitable case and revenue objectives in the area of responsibility, by customer and product.
  • Establish and maintain contact with key account personnel in all key departments at chain account customers including category purchasing, culinary, logistics, and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate regularly with the Epi Breads internal staff including customer service, logistics, R&D, Production Planning, and operations teams.
  • Lead and pursue customer product development and customization based on capability, profitability, and volume to insure profitable business growth for Epi Breads.
  • Responsible for creating strategic plans for key customers and new business opportunities.
  • Travel as necessary to achieve the corporate goals.

Qualifications

  • A minimum 5 years experience calling across multiple sections of Foodservice customers and chain accounts.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Preferred candidate ideally based in Atlanta, GA or in the greater Southeast USA, but willing to travel or relocate.
  • A history of successful chain account development and growth.
  • The proven ability to open new accounts and have excellent commercial acumen.
  • The ability to identify work with accounts in the top 500 chain accounts, generate interest in our products, and successfully gain new product approvals and implementation on menu.
  • Possess strong analytical skills and able to interpret trend data, menus and customer products and custom product development working directly with customers and Epi Breads R&D team.
  • The ability to develop segment and customer specific sales strategies and joint business plans, skilled at execution, and technically able - culinary experience or exposure preferred.
  • Bakery background and knowledge is preferred with specific on bread products and adjoining categories.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in developing and growing relationships with key decision makers.
  • Maintains a positive, team-oriented outlook and able to collaborate internally across functions.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint.
