National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) is seeking a dynamic ATD President to lead ATD into the future. This is a unique opportunity to drive the success of an influential association representing the commercial heavy-duty truck dealer industry and the interests of ATD member companies.
As President, you will be at the forefront of ATD’s strategic vision, ensuring our continued impact and relevance. You will lead our efforts to protect the franchise model, manage our annual Convention / Trade Show, and advocate against legislative and regulatory challenges.
Your role will also involve elevating ATD’s profile, enhancing dealer operations, and growing our membership.
This position is full-time and requires you to be onsite Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities :
Drive a bipartisan advocacy agenda to protect and advance the interests of our industry. Elevate the franchise model while helping members navigate current evolution.
Limit the passage of costly and burdensome legislative and / or regulatory initiatives that would negatively impact the industry.
- Ensure continued relevance, success and impact on ATD’s two primary mission areas advocacy and education to further strengthen ATD as voice of truck dealers for the next generation.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan in collaboration with the ATD Board and NADA staff. Adapt strategies based on industry challenges and opportunities to drive organizational success.
- Lead ATD’s NextGen efforts to help build a successful future for our industry, our association and our communities.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson, articulating ATD's value proposition to stakeholders, including policymakers, regulators, and members.
Promote awareness of ATD’s benefits to truck dealers and increase involvement and engagement across the industry.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members, manufacturers, and other key stakeholders to foster collaboration and enhance ATD’s influence.
- Oversee the successful implementation of the annual ATD Show and ensure financial stability and growth. Strengthen and expand ATD’s research, programs and services to benefit our members.
- Create and monitor annual budget.
Skills & Qualifications :
- Minimum 10 years in senior leadership roles, with significant experience in advocacy, membership organizations, or related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in the truck industry or a proven ability to quickly master new industries and issues. Strong understanding of the dealer model and commercial automotive / truck industry.
- Exceptional spokesperson skills with experience engaging diverse stakeholders through various media channels. Demonstrated ability to effectively advocate for complex issues.
- Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and the ability to lead and motivate a team. Experience working with boards and managing organizational culture.
- Experience serving as a passionate and credible advocate for a complex and multi-faceted organization on public policy issues at the federal and state level.
- Must have the ability to travel up to 40%.
