The Human Resources Generalist assists with day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Section. The Human Resources Generalist provides administrative support to the human resources section with various HR functions to include the processing of all personnel / payroll changes, file maintenance and benefits.
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for executing HR initiatives, providing guidance to employees and leadership, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Ensures that the accuracy and completion of all human resource information is routed to Eskenazi Health Human Resources department in order to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Acts as a liaison between Eskenazi Health Human Resources and IEMS members to assist employees regarding benefit enrollments, plan provisions and claim issues in addition to status changes and other general inquiries.
- Enters and Monitors data into HRIS system ensuring the accuracy of information
- 1. New hires, status changes, pay changes and termination paperwork.
- 2. Updates any change information into the HRIS database.
- Monitors and processes attendance for IEMS
- Participates in departmental project work focused on delivering efficiencies and innovations to drive the human resources operation function forward.
- Performs transaction processing in support of HR functions, including data entry, filing, sending correspondence, compliance verifications, etc.
- Assists Chief of Human Resources in performing routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, tracking leave of absences, participation in employee disciplinary meetings, employee disputes and investigations, and terminations, monthly HR KPI metrics.
- Responsible for Eskenazi Occupational Health Random Drug Screening notification and monitoring.
- Processes all annual promotions and merit increases for IEMS.
- Prepares for and assists with benefit enrollment for new employees. Distributes benefit enrollment materials to new hires
- Runs reports from HRIS employee database as requested.
- Assists and communicates with Occupational Health regarding all work related injuries to include monitoring and filing of restricted duty and return to work documentation
- Assists with employee recognition including IEMS Employee Appreciation Week, service awards, retirements, retention, engagement and exit interview scheduling.
- Proactively recommends ideas for process improvement and prudent use of resources.
- Develops and maintains trusting relationships with staff and management.
- Reports sensitive and / or high profile issues timely to IEMS management.
- Participates in and attends meetings at various locations.

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred, or other related field with at least 5 years of human resources experience required; SHRM / PHR preferred
