OVERVIEW

Hendall is seeking a Medical Records Call Center Representative to contact designated medical providers and request medical records for which the provider billed Medicare, so that Hendall can review the documentation for payment accuracy based on Medicare coverage, coding, and billing rules.

This position will support Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) which serves the public as a trusted partner and steward, dedicated to advancing health equity, expanding coverage, and improving health outcomes.

DUTIES

  • Contact medical records department for assigned providers, explain the purpose of the medical records request, and options for submitting records electronically, by fax, and or by mail
  • Verify contact information for the provider
  • Send written medical record request letter to provider
  • Follow up with provider as needed to ensure records are submitted timely
  • Handle in-bound calls from providers seeking information about the medical record requests

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of Medicare provider types : physicians, diagnostic laboratory facilities, ambulance, durable medical equipment suppliers, acute inpatient hospitals, long term are hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, hospice
  • Strong active-listening and clear verbal communication skills
  • Strong record keeping skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • High school diploma
