DS Technologies Inc is looking for Product Specialist 5 SQL Server DBA role for one of our premier clients.

Job Title : Product Specialist 5 SQL Server DBA

Location : Remote (Local to Ohio)

Overview :

The SQL Server DBA will manage Microsoft SQL Server Database environments, including SQL Server databases on virtual machine (VM) servers, ensuring best practices in design, performance, and capacity planning.

They will work closely with teams to ensure optimal database performance, reliability, and scalability, while providing technical leadership and Tier III support.

Position :

• 9+ years of experience in managing SQL Server environments.
• 4-year college degree or equivalent technical study preferred.
• Certification in SQL Server DBA is preferred.

Responsibilities :

• Manage SQL Server databases and VM environments, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Plan and implement SQL services including security, clusters, and replication.
• Monitor daily database performance and recommend adjustments.
• Provide technical assistance for SQL design and programming.
• Support DevOps tools and troubleshoot application issues.
• Design and configure cluster environments, including hardware and storage setups.
• Implement log shipping, replication, and high-performance tuning of clusters.
• Ensure best practices in database planning, design, and configuration.
• Provide Tier III technical support and lead incident resolution efforts.
• Engage in strategic planning for database architecture and capacity planning.
• Update security protocols and ensure compliance.

Required Qualifications :

• 9+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Proven experience managing SQL Server databases on virtualized infrastructures.
• Strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Experience with SQL services configuration (security, clusters, replication).
• Experience supporting DevOps tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Bitbucket, etc.).

Additional Information :

• Must be local to Ohio.
• 7-month contract.
• Certification in SQL Server DBA preferred.

Candidate Details :

• Must have 9+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong technical leadership and communication skills.
• Must possess a 4-year degree or equivalent technical study.
