UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional level Learning Tools Specialist to join Academic Technology, a unit within UFIT.
Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other dedicated employees focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.
The Learning Tools Specialist supports University of Florida’s student success goals by applying knowledge of emerging learning technologies with pedagogical theories to enhance students’ learning experiences.
This position resides in the UFIT’s Center for instructional Technology and Training works with faculty, instructors, instructional designers and other UFIT teams to consult, explore, design, integrate and implement emerging educational technology solutions such as Artificial Intelligence, AR / VR / XR and other learning tools into UF’s learning environments.
Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are :
- Consult and design effective learning technology solutions with faculty and instructor
- Implement and integrate learning technologies into UF learning environments
- Provide expert level support and training for the UF community

Vacation-accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days / hours per year, assuming full-time status.

Minimum Requirements :
Associate's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications :
The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills :
- Master degree in appropriate field
- Knowledge and familiarity with educational technology systems and standards
- Experience in teaching and learning theories
- Experience with emerging technologies such as AI, AR / VR / XR and others
- Experience supporting faculty, instructors and coworkers in an higher education environment
