12-month contract to hire

Pay rate - $28.00 - $34.00 / hr (Depending on years of experience)

As a Junior Wireless Network Engineer, you will support our clients' wireless network communication devices. You will assist with updating and troubleshooting devices and with projects to prepare new devices across the Greater Chicago area.

You will work under the guidance of a Senior Engineer and be trained in wireless network technologies.

Qualifications :

• 0-3 yrs. of experience with networking protocols, Network / Electrical Engineering, or troubleshooting with Cisco / Nokia technologies or ITRON technologies
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering (or similar field), or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge or hands-on experience with wireless technologies
• Knowledge of fundamental network concepts like TCP / IP, HTTP, and FTP
• Familiarity with ITRON is a plus!
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Must be willing to work independently and as part of a team.
• Participate in rotating on-call and queue monitoring schedules in a 24 / 7 / 365 environment.

Responsibilities :

• Support the administration and resolution of network-related problems.
• Ensures that procedures are implemented and enforced for all wireless devices.
• Install, configure, manage, and maintain the security of all wireless ITRON devices to established standards and best practices.
• Execute network implementation activities for multiple short- and long-term projects while adhering to all project management standards.
• Ensures that long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall systems planning of the organization.
• Provides technical support in the integration and testing of complex, large-scale integrated networks.
