Job Description

The Executive Director is responsible for the supervision of the residents, staff, and physical environment. The Executive Director must possess extensive knowledge of trauma-informed practices and care, a strong ability to solve complex problems, and excellent decision-making skills, including critical thinking.

Job Summary : Conducting physical environment assessments, supporting resident treatment plans, evaluating the results for the client, and making changes to the plan as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties :

1. Working intimately with the Catholic Religious Sisters in providing loving care to all residents and bringing the love of Christ to all those who live and work, or volunteer, at the O'Connell House.

2. Overseeing implementation of the mission and vision for all program services in partnership with the O'Connell House.

  • Must have excellent oral and written skills;
  • 3. Implementing and complying with policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Directors;
  • 4. Responsible for the recruiting, vetting, and use of volunteers throughout the program;
  • 5. Adhering to all federal and state laws and standards on the operation of the home; Addressing areas of non-compliance identified by licensing inspections and complaint investigations;
  • 6. Using a victim-centered and trauma-informed approach, work collaboratively with the clients and other treatment team members (internal and external) to help support clients in their treatment and recovery;

7. Supports the Ex. Director regarding grant guidelines and other funding opportunities

8. Manage and maintain annual budget; process reimbursement requests, report spending trends to Ex. Director

  • 9. Develops, supervises, and reinforces the religious sisters in their assigned roles; provides training opportunities and cultural support;
  • 10. Leads facility management including building, maintenance, and purchasing;

11. Manages community commitments for compliance ( Food Bank reporting, ordering, pick-up)

  • 12. Complete paperwork requirements and maintain quality, up-to-date policy and procedures, and data collection efforts;
  • 13. Participate in all staff development and training as required;
  • 14. Establishing effective communication between staff, residents, and children of residents and providing their input into program planning and operating procedures;

Level of Education : Bachelor's Degree or higher in a social service field, or business administration. Experience may be considered in place of education.

Work Experience : Experience in managing a group home for women and / or adolescents. Experience working in sexual or domestic violence, substance abuse and / or human trafficking programs preferred, Emergency / Mental Health / Healthcare management experience highly desired.

The ideal Administrative Program Manager candidate must have :

  • Experience and knowledge of trauma-informed practices and care for individuals with co-occurring disorders, trauma disorders, homelessness, and survivors of domestic violence and / or sex-trafficking.
  • Experience in managing residential programs, including knowledge in human resources, financial, and facility management.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, and excellent communications and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of and a record of managing policy, processes and services to achieve excellent standards of care.

Employment contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation

Salary Range : Part-time position, average 20 hours; pay commensurate with experience. Flexible schedule and pay structure negotiated during the interview.
