Desired Skills & Experience :
- 1 Year or more experience in similar role with polishing on natural stone and engineered quartz
- Experience with Northwood equipment preferred
- High school diploma
- Basic computer skills, MS office
- Organized, task oriented and strong attention to details
- Strong communication (both written & verbal)
- Understanding of fractions and measurements and basic mathematical skills
- Demonstrates knowledge of hand working tools and the operation of power tools such as table saw, chop saw etc.
- Has or can obtain forklift operations certificate with 1 year experience
- Possess a valid driver's license and a clear criminal record check
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Sets up the work area by adjusting or loading stone slabs
- Marks out block squarely and cuts stone to specifications
- Grind, sand, clean or polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools
- File grooved, contoured, and irregular surfaces of stone surfaces to conform to templates, other part, and layouts, or blueprint specifications
- Maintains workstation in a clean and orderly manner
- Observes and adhere to all safety procedures while on the production floor
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and withstand exposure to water (hands / feet) for long periods of time
- Must be able to safely lift 35-50lbs
- Must be able to work with hand tools using wrist and find manipulate for long periods of time
