SUMMARY

The Vice President of Marketing & Sales is responsible for all product, service, and aircraft sales activities. In addition, this position is responsible for all marketing activities to support the strategic plan and collaborating with others on the marketing plans and needs of all related businesses (i.

e. Lake & Air). The Vice President of Marketing & Sales plays an important role as part of the executive leadership team by participating in strategic planning and coordinating with ownership and the Board of Directors on Marketing & Sales strategy.

Our ideal candidate would be based out of our Minnesota office.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains efficient Marketing and Sales department operations including the priorities and performance of the entire team by recruiting, selecting, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating all personnel.
  • Leads, manages, and develops the marketing & sales staff.
  • Participates actively in the strategic planning process.
  • Provides leadership in the continuous evaluation of organization performance against the annual budget and long-term strategy, and of short and long-term strategic budgets.
  • Provides direction with regards to the implementation of new practices and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
  • Prepares yearly marketing & sales plan, which is consistent with the strategic plan.
  • Develops annual revenue plan and financial forecast.
  • Prepares annual revenue and operating budget for the marketing and sales departments.
  • Organizes the department structure to effectively and efficiently execute all plans and to achieve those plans and goals.
  • Develops appropriate compensation plans to incentivize marketing & sales staff to achieve annual revenue plans.
  • Manages Wipaire CRM system by all marketing & sales staff and ensures effective usage and compliance.
  • Maintains effective relationships with other management, staff and departments to deliver high quality service to the organization.

Will coordinate with other VPs and management staff to provide client support and guidance ensuring client needs are met as necessary.

Assures compliance with all internal policies and procedures, as well as government regulations and laws (i.e. FAA, State, and Federal).

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Works with President / CEO, Chief Operating Officer, VP of Business Services and VP of Engineering to develop goals and production plans for various departments.
  • Develops annual revenue plan in support of organization strategy and objectives.
  • Directs implementation and execution of sales compensation plan, policies and practices.
  • Ensures communications are coordinated, supports sales plan objectives and meets organizational expenditure requirements.
  • Recommends sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses.
  • Implements approved distribution strategies.
  • Manages multiple channel selling strategies through effective use of CRM.
  • Builds, develops and manages sales team capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives.

Experience and Skills :

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education, Experience and Credentials

  • 4-year BA degree in Business Management or related field or comparable experience.
  • Eight or more years minimum experience in sales management required.
  • Three years minimum experience in aviation sales strongly preferred.
  • Five years minimum experience in marketing required.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally.
  • Proven track record in creating and managing a new business pipeline; experience in developing new markets and building contact networks.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of best practices in FAA, OSHA, and other federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Able to measure, evaluate and redesign work processes using technology to achieve organizational goals. Able to use appropriate methods to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and measure impact.
  • Able to demonstrate a methodical, cost-effective and logical approach to integrate technology into the workplace and improve program effectiveness.

Able to develop strategies using new technology to enhance decision making.

  • Strong leadership and management skills; able to function well as part of the organization’s leadership team, communicating and interacting proactively and professionally to ensure the organization’s operational and strategic needs are being met.
  • Able to supervise employees, set objectives and work goals and standards, give direction, delegate to, and motivate employees.
  • Establish, document and communicate clear performance expectations and standards. Evaluate, discuss and hold employees accountable for job performance and organizational behavior standards.
  • Able to perform HR-related functions including hiring and selection, orienting and training, managing performance, disciplinary action and recommending the termination of employees.

Able to understand, administer, and comply with HR policies and procedures.

  • Able to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work in a fast-paced environment. Able to work unsupervised, make high level decisions independently, and solve problems effectively and creatively.
  • Able to display high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization.
  • Able to develop and give oral presentations to small groups of individuals inside and outside the organization.
  • Understand and maintain confidential nature of customer, organization and employee information, including and in accordance to HIPAA regulations.
  • Show professional knowledge, proficiency and initiative in achieving goals and meeting standards.
  • Proven management and communication skills working with consultants and vendors to accomplish specific goals and objectives.
  • Able to identify, evaluate, problem solve, and give direction regarding problem resolution for individual and company-wide issues.
