The EHR Services practice is comprised of 600+ individuals across the U.S. and Ireland who are dedicated to improving the healthcare delivery system through the power of healthcare technology, specifically, the EHR and integrated applications and tools.

By joining the EHR Services team, you’ll partner with some of the most gifted healthcare technology thought leaders within the industry, collaborate with experienced consulting and healthcare leaders, and help partners capture the benefits of their EHR investment.

Optum seeks an Epic BI Developer with hands-on experience in EHR Services implementation and operation projects. They will manage integration teams, train best practices, and align with EHR Services to ensure successful project execution.

from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities : Develops complex operational and project-related reports including analysis, design, documentation, versioning development, configuration, testing, implementation and ongoing support for Epic Clarity-based reportingReceives and documents formal requests from customer including specifications (layout, calculations, data source, etc.

Evaluates requests for completeness and if needed works with customer to finalize requestProvides technical direction, guidance and assistance during project development and accomplish all required formal sign-offsDesigns and documents the general functional requirements and detailed technical specifications for a reportAssists with Epic upgrades / updates by serving as a subject matter expert for the Epic Clarity data modelsImplements reports / database software in an optimal manner to minimize the effect on production and development activitiesAbility to troubleshoot technical issues with reports, including reviewing scripts and database issuesProvides technical / clinical workflow consultation including application configuration.

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates systems needs to develop recommendations for customersDevelops, supports and maintains all required system design and build documents and other system documentationProvides support of application incidents reported through the help desk;

including 24 / 7 on call coverage as requiredAdheres to organization standards for system configuration and change controlDevelops solid relationships with end user communities, customers and business partnersAttends, participates in, and contributes to meetings throughout the facilityTroubleshoots and / or resolves application issues and escalates more complex issues as appropriateThe Report Writer may create new reports, using third party report writing tools to display Clarity dataKey Competencies : Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple prioritiesTeamwork and Collaboration.

Consultative and collaborative style with demonstrated ability with cross-functional teamsClarity Report Writer to create design specifications for new reports and identify and validate the appropriate technological solutions for various reporting needsConsults with and advise vendors and technical groups concerning the continued support of reports and databasesDemonstrates the ability to build and maintain solid internal relationships as well as motivate and inspire other team members through solid consultative skillsDemonstrates a solid ability to build partnerships and influence others.

Required Qualifications : Active / current Epic certifications in at least two areas including one Clarity Data Model5+ years enterprise experience with Epic systems5+ years of experience designing, creating, testing and implementing complex reports using Cogito SQL, SSIS, and / or Business Objects Enterprise reporting tools5+ years of experience with SQL query techniques and stored procedures to access relational databases with the ability to write efficient queries5+ years Reporting tool experience or certifications (Oracle, Microsoft, SAS, Cognos, etc.

Proficiency with MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePointAbility to travel up to 25% annually, USA domestic locations.

Travel may be lower depending on project requirementsPreferred Qualifications : Familiarity with Epic applications and database structureProven ability to demonstrate and have a history of team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication and leadership skills*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter PolicyCalifornia, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only : The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
