Position Summary

CVS Health’s Analytics & Behavior Change (A&BC) is an organization within CVS Health working to solve some of the most challenging problems at the intersection of technology, analytics, and healthcare.

A&BC leverages advanced analytics (AI, ML, LLM), user-centric product design, and a hypothesis-driven top-down strategic approach to transform data into actionable and customer-centric insights, predictions, and products.

A&BC’s aim is to drive growth, improve health outcomes and expand access to healthcare for all our members and customers.

The Care Delivery Analytics & Behavior Change team is part of the overall Analytics and Behavior Change organization (A&BC).

The team plays a key role in shaping the future of CVS Health’s growing care delivery ecosystem (i.e., HealthSpire) by collaborating with key business areas across CVS Health to deliver impactful analytic solutions, insights, predictions and digital products.

As a leader within the Analytics & Behavior Change Care Delivery team, you will be at the forefront of delivering high-visibility analytic projects for various CVS Care Delivery strategic priorities (e.

g., Oak Street Health, Signify Health). Specifically, you will have the opportunity to influence & shape where we grow our footprint, how we deliver care to members and what we do to ensure every member gets an exceptional healthcare experience by utilizing advanced analytic solutions to enhance internal strategic decision making (e.

g., where to expand), member facing outreaches (e.g., nudging and next best action campaigns), operational enhancements (e.

g., care delivery effectiveness & productivity), and others.

What you will do

Engage with business stakeholders to co-create our care delivery strategy including the fundamental challenges expected and opportunities ahead.

Build in collaboration with stakeholders a pipeline / roadmap of projects and opportunities to deliver on our organizational goals and beyond.

Communicate complex analytical concepts, findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Provide strategic guidance, thought partnership and recommendations to senior management based on data-driven insights and analyses.

Design and build both standard and advanced models, including econometric, artificial intelligence and machine learning-based approaches.

Lead a team of data scientists and decision scientists to achieve modeling or product build goals, bring the best of the industry, and inspire innovation and efficient execution.

Drive the development and implementation of best practices and standards for data analysis, modeling, and reporting within the analytics team.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Oak Street Health, Signify Health, Aetna, CVS pharmacies & retail, MinuteClinics, Enterprise Economics, Legal, Finance, Compliance, and others to understand business objectives and shape the delivery path to organizational goals.

Join forces with the Data Engineering team to ensure the availability and integrity of data required for analytics, ML ops for deployment, and identify opportunities for data integration, automation, and augmentation.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of data analytics, business strategy, and high-level understanding of product management. Specifically :

8+ years of work experience with 3+ years leading a team either directly or indirectly

Deep understanding of the US healthcare system including provider, payor, and regulatory landscape. Solid understanding of Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Thorough understanding of care delivery solutions (e.g., Value Based Care, In-Home Evaluations, e-consults, etc.)

Technically proficient at coding in SQL, Python or similar.

Extensive experience in overseeing end-to-end model development from ideation through solution development to deployment / monitoring including in standard and advanced ML modeling techniques (e.

g., Regression Models, Decision Trees, Neural Networks, etc.)

Comfortable with ambiguity, adaptable, and can creatively build solutions that solve problems, even if those problems are not expressed in formal ways.

Distinctive problem solver and comfortable with making informed decisions in fast paced environments.

Strong ability to consult with and be a thought partner to senior leadership, naturally builds relationships and thrives in maintaining & nurturing them.

Excited to collaborate in a team-based environment as a player coach.

Exhibits a growth mindset (mental agility, developing yourself, learning new topics)

Strong project management abilities (i.e., planning, delivering, and supporting)

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of work experience with 5+ years leading a team either directly or indirectly

3+ years in management consulting preferably within advanced analytics practices (e.g., Quantum Black, BCG Gamma, Bain AAG)

Education

Required : Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Economics, Statistics, Science & Engineering, etc.)

or Bachelor degree in a quantitative field and advanced degree in healthcare or business management

Preferred : PhD in a quantitative field (Economics, Statistics , Science & Engineering)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is :

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.

The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.

This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
