Georgia Harm Reduction is looking for an Experienced Lead Floater Medical Assistant to
perform a variety of clinical and office duties under the supervision of the Director of
Clinical Services. The Lead MA will effectively manage and delegate the team of medical
assistant’s roles and responsibilities to ensure the clinic flows properly. The Lead MA will
work with the clinic department to promote and maintain the practice goals and policies
and procedures.
In addition, to being responsible for all medical assistant duties the Lead MA will :
encourage and practice teamwork philosophy; maintain positive and open communication
with the team; assist with and maintain patient flow with patients; delegate duties to
team; monitor MA performance and provide training / guidance when necessary; train new
medical assistants; weekly assessment of team’s completion of administrative
responsibilities; collaborate with other medical assistants, and providers to provide
optimal patient care; provide feedback on medical assistant’s performance to supervisor;
adhere to all policies, procedures and workflows of the practice and establish
accountability of same within team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Administrative :
- Train all medical assistants, students, and clinic volunteers within the organization.
- Travels to all GHRC sites to provide new hire orientation and onboarding and
consistent training and development for all medical assistants.
- Manage inventory and clinic ordering.
- Manage and optimize scheduling for patients and medical assistant staff.
- Optimize collaboration between departments for patient scheduling and referrals.
- Transmits prescription refills request.
- Oversee prior authorization management per site.
- Oversee work quality, productivity and working hours of Medical Assistants
- Assist in data reporting and auditing medical assistant procedures and
documentation.
Other duties as assigned
Clinical
- Records accurate patient history, vital signs, and current medical status (triage).
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing
standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
Follows OSHA guidelines relating to proper use of handling PPE, needles,
bloodborne pathogens, and disposing of biohazardous materials.
Follows all HIPAA requirements to secure client information and maintain client
confidence by completing and safeguarding all medical records, keeping patient
information confidential.
- Assists the physician during physical examinations.
- Collects and prepares laboratory specimens.
- Prepares and administers medications, including intramuscular, intradermal, and
subcutaneous injections.
- Conducts Phlebotomy.
- Assist the provider with wound care and changing dressings.
- Provides clinical services in outreach settings and events.
