Food Production Manager
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Food Production Manager to lead our dynamic production department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee production processes, manage a diverse team, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage production schedules to meet deadlines and customer demands
- Lead and mentor a team of 30-60 employees, fluctuating based on seasonal needs
- Analyze performance metrics and implement strategies for improvement
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, including GMP and SQF policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory and production efficiency
- Manage employee schedules, conduct performance reviews, and support professional development
- Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; additional education in food science or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of leadership experience in food production required; specialty food experience is a plus
- Proven track record in managing teams, production schedules, and budgets
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and quality control processes
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and extended shifts during peak seasons
Work Schedule
- Primary schedule : Monday-Thursday, 6 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM
- Flexibility required for additional hours and days during busy seasons
- Occasional weekend work
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary range : $75,000 - $85,000+, commensurate with experience
