The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria seeks a child and adolescent psychiatrist with strong interest in graduate medical education to develop and lead a new child and adolescent psychiatry (CAP) fellowship.
The CAP Fellowship Program Director is a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Our department has worked closely with community partners to prepare for the development of a new CAP training program. The broad array of resources, exceptional facilities, and collaborative commitment from the community provide an ideal opportunity for a motivated psychiatrist to lead and grow the program.
The success of our other educational programs and the experience of the current faculty offer ample support to the incoming CAP Fellowship Program Director.
Candidates should share our values for high-quality patient care, the education of fellows, residents, and medical students, and the promotion of scholarly activity.
The ideal candidate will have meaningful administrative experience, excellent teaching and communication skills, and be eager to lead.

Responsibilities
- Development of the fellowship
- Oversight of the program curriculum and operations
- Promoting a culture of excellence
- Recruitment, evaluation, teaching, and scholarly support
- Other duties tailored to the interest of the applicant, including opportunities in adult and child inpatient and outpatient clinical care, community outreach, college student mental health, scholarship, and classroom teaching

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an ACGME-approved child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship
- Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Illinois
- ABPN board-certification in adult and child and adolescent psychiatry
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry
- Experience in administration of educational programs
