Job Overview & Responsibilities :
The Manager of Network Fleet Strategy is responsible for optimizing the financial and strategic benefit that various types of aircraft bring to United’s route network.
The Manager is responsible for coordinating the development of aircraft layouts including optimal seating configurations, location, number of monuments and other factors to drive revenue potential and will summarize key findings for the leadership team.
- Responsible for coordinating the development of new aircraft layouts for both domestic and international aircraft
- The Manager prepares and presents slides that tell a story and summarize key findings to leadership
- Using core4 standards, create aircraft configurations that match United's needs for each specific fleet type :
- Optimized cabin sizes, efficiency of seat placement, impact of new seat types / technologies, unused / alternate use of floor space, location of lavs / galleys / closets, customer amenities
- Prepare ad hoc analysis for configuration and other aircraft-related projects
- Analyze and assess the potential impact of various configurations / aircraft projects on safety, customer comfort and satisfaction, crew workflows, operating cost, and revenue
- Partner with a broad range of stakeholders including :
- Engineering, Marketing, Galley Packing, Inflight Experience & Safety, and Finance
- Regularly work with aircraft manufacturers to develop new layouts and understand engineering constraints and opportunities
- Team development : guide team and individual development and alignment ( team goals, mentoring, career development etc.)

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications) :
- Bachelor's degree in Undergraduate degree in business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Transportation / Logistics, Mathematics, or related area of study
- 3+ years of related work experience
- Demonstrated strategic thinking skills; ability to take complex problems and build logical solution frameworks
- Experience with data analysis and financial modeling
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a fast paced environment
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Exceptional relationship building skills
- Intellectual curiosity, a desire to learn, ability to take initiative
- Interest and enthusiasm for leading, developing and mentoring a dirdct report
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
