Job Summary :

Responsible for self-insurance claims and overall risk management for the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office. F ormulates, updates, and monitors safety and risk management policies and procedures in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal laws.

Reviewing contracts and agreements in relation to indemnification language, insurance requirements and transference of risk.

Monitoring volunteer programs and special events for liability exposures and compliance with waiver and release requirements.

Assists in the maintenance of a computerized comprehensive vehicle and mobile equipment inventory for asset management and insurance purposes.

Prepares risk management and safety related grant applications for training and equipment. Maintains insurance coverage on EBRSO-owned or leased items.

Serves as liaison between insurance carriers, employees and the public who present claims. See the full job description for more information.

Qualifications :

Must have an associate's degree or higher in Business Administration or a related field; or 3 years of related experience and / or training;

or an equivalent combination of education and experience, where 30 semester hours equals one year of experience.
