Kaw Valley Engineering has an immediate opening for a Structural Engineer / Project Manager.

- Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various building codes.
- Develop construction drawings, contract documents and QAQC plans for commercial, industrial, public improvements, utilities, and residential projects.
- Coordinate and complete day to day workflow on projects including project studies, reports, calculations and other similar design related assignments.
- Focus on achieving department objectives, profitability goals, and continuous improvement as part of a high-performance work team.
- Collaborate with project teams to discuss problems and challenges and help create solutions to move forward in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
- Provide technical assistance to customers on specific projects.
- Perform field inspections of construction projects and assist with preparation of addenda, RFI responses, and change orders.
- Evaluate geotechnical report findings for civil and structural design work. Select and design appropriate foundation systems.
- Perform and report results of structural condition assessments of existing facilities.
- Meet and correspond with KVE team, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Serve as a mentor to and provide guidance to less experienced staff.
- Perform work in a manner that demonstrates an awareness of and an appreciation for the company’s cultural values, including a commitment to quality, innovation, learning, and growth.
Qualifications
- The successful candidate shall possess a B.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited degree program and have a Professional Engineering License (PE or SE) in the State of KS, MO or the ability to obtain a license in these states within 60 days of hire.
- Working knowledge of current industry software, EnerCalc, Risa3-D, WoodWorks, and AutoCAD Architecture, Revit is preferred.
- High-level communicator, both written and oral, with the ability to give a 360-degree perspective, provide editorial input, and synthesize and integrate information from others.
Experience
Three years of consulting experience with relevant experience managing and navigating the completion of structural projects is required.
