Job Description
Paul D. Camp Community College is a small 2-year college in Southeast Virginia. Campuses are located in Franklin and Suffolk.
- There also is a center in Smithfield. The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates In transfer and career / technical programs;
- credit and non-credit workforce services and training for businesses and industries; special interest classes for the community;
and summer classes for youth through the Regional Workforce Development Center. A dual enrollment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available at the college as well.
The Facilities Coordinator will oversee the Workforce Dev. Center’s facility rentals for business & industry, and private & community events, work closely with rental clients regarding reservations, room set ups and equipment needs.
Oversee the completion of the Event Specialists’ work schedule for community and private events. Work directly with maintenance, security, information technology (IT), and other personnel regarding the facility.
This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours during the 12 month period of May 1 April 30, regardless of the hire date.
The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period.
This wage position offers no state benefits. Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's / Required Qualifications -Experience in event planning and management.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage responsibilities effectively to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated advanced skills using word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computerized maintenance or event planning management system.
- Supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and n a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service skills with a high degree of professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Experience maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends and some holidays, based on facilities rentals. Additional Considerations -Demonstrated advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, and Outlook.
