Primary Responsibilities :
Conduct comprehensive rotor dynamics analysis and testing on prototype machines, focusing on controller tuning, data acquisition system setup and troubleshooting, software development and testing, and field support.
Demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration skills while maintaining a positive attitude and openness to learning.
Key Responsibilities Breakdown :
Rotor Dynamics Analysis :
Utilize specialized software to perform rotor dynamic simulations to identify critical speeds and vibration modes.
Analyze rotor unbalance and misalignment issues and propose design modifications.
Conduct modal analysis to understand the dynamic behavior of rotating components.
Controller Tuning :
Design and implement control algorithms for active magnetic bearings or other control systems to mitigate vibrations.
Tune control parameters based on experimental data to optimize system performance.
Data Acquisition System Setup :
Select appropriate sensors (accelerometers, displacement transducers, etc.) for vibration measurements.
Configure data acquisition hardware and software to record relevant data during testing.
Troubleshoot data acquisition issues and ensure data integrity.
Prototype Machine Testing :
Conduct comprehensive testing of prototype machines to validate design and performance.
Analyze test data to identify and address vibration issues.
Collaborate with engineering teams to implement design improvements based on test results.
Software Development / Testing :
Develop and test control algorithms for prototype machines using relevant programming languages.
Integrate software with data acquisition systems and user interfaces.
Field Support :
Provide technical assistance to customers on-site during machine installation and commissioning.
Troubleshoot field issues related to vibrations and control systems.
