Software Engineer

Copart is looking for a Software Engineer (Data Scientist) to be part of the Data & Reporting Team in Technology Department.

The Data & Reporting team works very closely with all aspects of data, both internal and external. As a Data Scientist, you will be evaluating, restructuring, and improving Copart’s products.

We are looking for a Sr Data Science / Analytics Engineer with good Analytical and Software Engineering skill to build and maintain data pipelines.

In this role, your work will broadly influence the company's customers, data consumers, executives, and analysts.

Key Responsibilities :

• Gather business requirements, translate them into information solutions using data solutions, AI / ML and advance analytics techniques.
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analysis, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decision using data analytics and reporting tools.
• Build and train machine learning models to predict desired target variables, validate outcomes using predefined metrics
• Work closely with data engineers and utilize data technologies, including SQL, ETL / ELT, Realtime data stream and data warehousing to implement or improve data, applications, and statistical models.
• Utilize tools like R and python to build customer data models and collaborate with users to provide technical guidance.
• Research and develop machine learning, data mining and other analytics algorithms / application using H2O.ai, TensorFlow, Keras and Vertex AI.
• Work with business units to scope and define data analysis requests and build semantic models in analytics tool to support ad-hoc analysis.
• Deploy data solutions on cloud platforms, including data ingestion, processing, storage, and build AI / ML applications on cloud platform.

Qualifications :

• BS / MS in Computer Science and Engineering or Equivalent degree
• 2+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing scalable, high-performing applications in Python or R
• 2+ years of experience programming enterprise solutions in Java and managing production ready code.
• Good Understanding of Data Engineering, Business Intelligence and SQL.
• Good hands-on Experience creating Machine Learning models and data cleansing and data analysis.
• Experience in other programming languages (JavaScript / Ruby / Scalar / R) is a plus
• Good interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written)
• Self-driven and ability to work independently and willingness to learn new technologies.
