This pivotal role develops and guides a high-performing team of accounting professionals, directly impacting the financial strategy of a growing, purpose-driven organization renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional care.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Accounting / Controller is critical in driving the company’s financial success and leads a team of 4-8 accounting staff.
Overseeing all aspects of accounting, the Director of Accounting / Controller ensures accurate and timely practices while contributing to strategic planning and forecasting.
The performance pillars for Accounting are a focus on Accounting Project Management (25%), Accuracy of Payroll, Benefits, Billing, Payables, Receivables, and Bookkeeping (25%), Analysis and Reporting (25%) and Development / Oversight of Accounting Staff (25%).
This role also has ample career growth opportunities such as VP of Finance / Accounting or CFO!
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Guide a team of accounting professionals, fostering growth, accountability, and high-quality work.
- Analyze business performance, provide recommendations, and participate in budget development.
- Ensure department efficiency, compliance, and alignment with company goals.
- Facilitate smooth information flow within and across departments.
- Lead initiatives across the department, ensuring successful execution and on-time delivery.
- Partner with external vendors to achieve company objectives.
- Manage accounting functions, oversee reports, and prepare for audits.
- Support business development, explore new opportunities, and identify cost-saving measures.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university.
- 5+ years of experience, including 2+ years of direct leadership and mentorship of an accounting staff responsible for multiple accounting transaction cycles.
- Understanding of partnering with outside vendors and agencies, including DHS, VA, and LTCI.
- Strong understanding of record retention, reconciliations AR / AP, billing, collections, and benefits administration.
- Excellent written, oral, and persuasive communication skills.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS :
