Delta Utilities is seeking a versatile and driven HR Generalist to join our growing team. This role is a full-time position based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This role will oversee the core HR functions, ensuring smooth operations while supporting executive leadership with strategic HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily HR activities, including onboarding, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and employee relations, ensuring seamless operations across the organization
- Collaborate closely with the recruitment team and managers to ensure smooth hiring processes, assisting with interviews, onboarding, and workforce planning
- Act as a trusted resource for employees, handling concerns with discretion and offering solutions to foster a positive workplace environment
- Contribute to the development and implementation of company-wide HR policies, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with company culture and goals
- Support managers in facilitating performance reviews and employee development plans, promoting a culture of continuous improvement
- Analyze HR data to provide insights and recommendations to leadership, helping to inform key business decisions
- Develop initiatives to boost employee engagement and retention, organize events, and implement programs that support a collaborative and motivated workforce
- Work closely with leadership to support broader company objectives, ensuring HR practices are aligned with the overall strategic vision
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
- Three to five years of HR experience, with a strong foundation in HR operations and employee relations; experience in the utilities or similar regulated industry is a plus
- Relevant certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar preferred
- Proven ability to handle multiple HR functions simultaneously, with a solid understanding of HR compliance, employee relations, and policy development
- Resourceful and adaptable with a keen ability to prioritize, execute, and adjust in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the company
- Comfortable working with HRIS systems, payroll software, and other relevant HR tools; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to support leadership in executing HR strategies and processes
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements specific to the utilities industry preferred

Delta Utilities is a leading natural gas utility with a focus on safe, dependable service to customers. Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, the utility will serve nearly 600,000 customers and become one of the leading natural gas providers in Louisiana and Mississippi and among the top 40 providers in the United States.
In 2023, Entergy announced that it had entered into an agreement with Delta Utilities to sell its Louisiana gas distribution business.
The natural gas utility currently serves more than 200,000 customers across East Baton Rouge and Orleans parishes. In February 2024, Delta Utilities entered into an agreement with CenterPoint Energy to acquire its Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas businesses, which currently serve approximately 381,000 customers.
Once the transactions are complete, Entergy's Louisiana natural gas operations and CenterPoint Energy's Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas systems will be operated by Delta Utilities.
