Middle School Science Teacher
Fraser Woods Montessori School seeks an enthusiastic science educator to join our collaborative team for the 2024-2025 school year.
The successful candidate will have a passion for working with middle school students and bring experience working in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop a positive rapport with children.
- Lead daily classes in science and work with students in other areas of their academic experience.
- Work as an advisor to a small group of middle school students.
- Work collaboratively with the middle school teaching team.
- Oversee the safety and physical well-being of the children at all times.
- Demonstrate realistic expectations of children based on age and abilities.
- Protect the privacy and working atmosphere of the class at all times.
- Provide timely and informative feedback to students on their work.
- Train and supervise children in executing fire drills and other emergency procedures.

We Require
- A commitment to FWM’s mission
- Bachelor’s degree
- Prior teaching experience
- Experience teaching middle school science
- Understanding of developmental stages in adolescence
- Ability to partner with parents
- Ability to collaborate with a dedicated educational team
- Understanding of and experience with social-emotional learning in a school setting
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
