Job Description
We are seeking a driven individual with a passion for the plastics industry. One of our clients is looking to add a strong Quality Assurance Manager to their team.
Responsibilities include :
1) Analyze, evaluate, and present information concerning factors such as production capabilities, manufacturing problems, and compliance with procedures for consideration by other members of the management team
2) Suggest and debate alternative methods and procedures for solving problems and meeting changing market opportunities
3) Cooperate with other top management personnel to formulate and establish company policies, operating procedures, and goals
4) Develop initial and subsequent modifications to the product assurance program
5) Delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements, and operational procedures within the product assurance program
6) Conduct meetings with subordinates to establish, delineate, and review both the product assurance program and organizational policies
7) Coordinate functions and operations between departments and establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining the organization’s objectives
8) Review technical problems and procedures of departments and recommend solutions to problems or changes in procedures
9) Visit and confer with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality, the capacity of vendor to meet orders, and vendor quality standards, including material certifications and other specifications as needed
10) Confer with the engineers and qualified staff of customers about the quality assurance of any and all products
11) Review technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in the industry
12) Perform performance reviews of all subordinate employees and direct their daily activities to enhance the continued growth of their capabilities within the department.
13) Generate reports as required and keep management updated on all areas of department responsibility.
14) Visit customers’ facilities to ensure total compliance with customers' quality needs
15) Promote a positive company image at all times
16) Follow the organization's policies as well as any applicable laws while carrying out any of his or her managerial duties
17) Assist Human Resources with the screening of applicants, scheduling interviews, monitoring the drug screening process, and onboarding
18) Handle discipline / developmental issues among subordinates along with terminations
19) Prepare annual performance appraisals on subordinates
Critical Requirements
1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
3) Recent experience in the plastics industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in quality assurance management
