What you’ll do :
- Interview and administer tests to patients with a wide range of known or suspected psychiatric and neurological conditions.
- Alter approach according to the special needs of each patient in order to ensure that the patient’s test results represent the best performances of which that patient is capable.
- Administer and score a number of individual tests and batteries of tests as required by each research protocol.
- Maintain awareness of deficits demonstrated by each patient and ensures that, whenever possible, tests of other abilities are presented in such a way that irrelevant deficits do not interfere with the patient’s performance.
- Use manuals to score many of the results as needed.
- Convert raw scores into standard scores for certain tests as needed.
- Compute a summary index of the number of impaired performances for the neuropsychological test battery using an algebraic formula.
- Review all test materials for errors in administering, recording and scoring and makes corrections if necessary.
- Compile test data and scores test for interpretation in a timely manner.
- Respond to correspondence requesting reprints, research and copies of psychological reports according to hospital confidentiality requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, during work hours and outside the work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts degree required.
- Specific training in administration of psychometric and personality assessment devices preferred.
- High degree of interpersonal and communication skills with patients, faculty, staff and the research team.
- Skilled at being aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
- Skilled at communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Skilled at using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approached to problems.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families.
Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
Requirements
