Job Classification : Team Lead

JOB DESCRIPTION :

Responsible for assisting with managing the manpower needs in the department, training and developing team member(s), and deploying operational excellence tools.

This position is Union Hourly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

1. Assists in identifying and resolving quality / safety issues.

2. Schedule all aspects of overtime.

3. Use lean tools and coach and train team members to use lean tools.

4. JDI, BPS (9Block), A-3’s.

5. Run MDI boards to the standard.

6. Adjust manpower as needed.

7. Determine who is next to train.

8. Encourage / coach employees.

9. Be a change agent. Demonstrate positive and proactive attitude.

10. Will be required to lift up to 35 pounds.

11. Receives work instructions from a member of management or a team lead.

12. Must be able to follow standard work, complete production and maintenance records and other documentation related to operations.

13. Must participate in basic problem solving, 5-S, and lean activities.

14. Must demonstrate the ability to perform the above duties with no additional training required.

15. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :

1. Communicate clearly and compellingly with others.

2. Work well with all levels of the business.

3. Demonstrate good leadership skills.

4. Participate in classes defined by HR.

5. Participate in the (TLDP) Team Leader Develop Program.

6. Demonstrate computer skills.

7. Maintain a good attendance record.

8. Demonstrated reliability and must be in good standing with the Human Resource Department.
