The College of Arts & Sciences at Texas A&M University is seeking an experienced Academic Advisor to join our dedicated team.
As an Academic Advisor, you will provide personalized academic guidance to undergraduate students and assist these students in navigating degree requirements, course selection, and career pathways.
Opportunities to contribute :
Deliver academic advising to current and prospective undergraduate students in the College of Arts & Sciences
Review degree plans and guide students on academic, probationary, and financial concerns
Advise students on how best to fulfill degree requirements
Develop and implement advising programs and workshops
Counsel students who are looking to change their major
Stay up to date on student policies, deadlines, procedures, appeals processes
Refer students to appropriate resources when needed
Work to improve academic advising services to enhance retention and graduations rates
Assist with New Student Conferences
Develop community within and lifelong affinity for the College of Arts & Sciences
Qualifications : Academic Advisor III
Academic Advisor III
Bachelor’s degree
Four years of academic advising within higher education
A well-qualified candidate for any of these positions will also possess :
Knowledge of Texas A&M advising programs & systems such as Compass and Howdy, as this position advises on degree programs, course planning and selections, and career and academic goals
Master’s degree or above in education, counseling, or general subject area of placement
NACADA or TEXAAN certificate of participation
Experience as an Academic Advisor at Texas A&M University
Starting Salary :
Academic Advisor III : $54,450.00
