Description
Under minimal supervision the Revenue Cycle Analyst is primarily responsible for revenue cycle periodic and ad hoc reporting and analysis.
This individual will work independently to analyze and interpret complex data and use problem solving skills to convert the data into useable information which will be used to apply Lean techniques.
Requires the ability to carry out advanced and confidential project work.
Major Responsibilities :
1. Prepares financial and statistical analyses, graphs, and presentation materials, and provides ad hoc analytical support for a variety of Revenue Cycle personnel, directors, managers and supervisors.
2. Provides support to cross-functional project teams to ensure on-time completion while assisting Revenue Cycle in meeting organizational goals and objectives.
I.e. Pulls Qlikview reporting data for clinical leaders and Revenue Cycle leaders on avoidable write-offs, denials trends and payer information.
3. Provides payer data that will help assist Managed Care in contract negotiations, as well as, payer meetings to communicate claim issues that will resolve in payment resolution.
4. Provides additional data to clinical and Revenue Cycle departments to improve internal processes to prevent denials and avoidable write-offs.
5. Interprets, analyzes and converts data into useable information (identifies the data necessary to establish the baseline and measure the change, data gathering, presentation, interpretation and analysis).
6. Development of analyses and reports to support revenue cycle initiatives, including financial evaluation of strategic initiatives and ongoing monitoring of progress.
Identify and make recommendations for improving existing processes and follows through as appropriate.
7. Effectively develop and present recommendations to supervisors / management based on data analysis.
8. Coordinate with revenue cycle supervisors / management to identify revenue cycle performance improvement opportunities.
9. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.
Education and Learning :
REQUIRED
Associate degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or a related field
Work Experience : REQUIRED
REQUIRED
1 year of experience in financial analysis or related field required.
DESIRED
5-7 years of experience in financial analytics in a healthcare environment.
