job summary :
Growing manufacturer in East St. Louis is seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Design Engineer to add to their team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 1-2 years of design experience with 2D and 3D CAD software in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with ASME Y14 or above is required. This position requires travel to KY for one week per month for the first 3 months for training.

responsibilities :
- Supports manufacturing with new and existing components and designs including solving problems with materials and processes
- Leads design reviews for assigned projects and participates in reviews; works with vendors and suppliers to specify new components and select appropriate components for designs.
- Collaborates with engineers of other disciplines to integrate components into design criteria
- Designs, analyzes, tests, and inspects products and subsystems for performance and reliability
- Supports operations to implement and maintain products through the life cycle; works closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality to identify and address any issues affecting productivity and quality.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical preferred
- At least 1 years of industry experience - transportation or machinery background preferred
- Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software design as well as MS Office software
- Ability to read and understand specification and standards documents; proficient in interpreting and creating engineering drawings
- Familiarity with ASME Y14
- GD&T capability
- Willingness to travel to KY for one week per month in the first 3 months of employment for training
