Job Title : Maintenance Electrician
Job Description
A global leading wheel and tire assembly manufacturer for the agriculture, construction, forestry, and mining markets is seeking Electrical Technicians to join our 3rd shift team in Des Moines, IA.
The primary function of this position is to install, alter, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
You will lead and direct the work of 2-5 Electricians and must be able to perform work independently or under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and / or the Engineering Manager.
This role requires the use of independent judgment and a high degree of confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Install, alter, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
- Lead and direct the work of 2-5 Electricians.
- Perform work independently or under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and / or the Engineering Manager.
- Logically engineer, design, draw schematics, troubleshoot, and repair electrical / electronic equipment efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all codes and regulations.
- Maintain the highest standards of excellence for safety, housekeeping, and quality.
Essential Skills
- Proficient knowledge of electronic and PLC technology and programming.
- Familiarity with electrical theory, NEC codes, and OSHA standards.
- Ability to locate, analyze, and correct power failures, short circuits, and electrical-related problems.
- At least 3 years of experience with electrical systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred experience in PLC troubleshooting.
- Experience with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs.

Work Environment
This is a fully on-site position in Des Moines, Iowa. Available shifts are 1st shift (7am-3pm, Monday - Friday) and 3rd shift (11pm - 7am, Monday - Friday).
During peak busy seasons, up to 80 hours of work may be required, with weekend pay available. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, safety glasses, and hearing protection on the production floor.
The environment is a typical tire manufacturing facility with a mix of machines from the 40s and some new automated equipment, and it is not temperature controlled.
