Responsible for coordination of Bay activities to include production, safety and quality. Works closely with Bay Foremen and other associates to ensure goals and objectives of the Bay are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs layout duties as needed, having an advanced knowledge of layout operations (includes all sizes and shop mathematics to include algebra up to trigonometry).
- Performs all take-off duties as needed.
- Responsible for the safe operation of a forklift in performing expediting duties.
- Occasionally fills in for Foreman during his / her absence in directing work activities of the Bay. Must consult with appropriate Superintendent on issues of discipline or other employment related matters.
- Uses a computer to access MS Word, Outlook, and Epicor 9.
- Functions as an inspector in support of Astec’s Quality Assurance Program to ensure manufacturing standards are met and to resolve any discrepancies.
Notifies Engineering of any design or drawing discrepancies and notifies Equipment Inspection Team members of any problems.
- Performs receiving, in-process, final and functional equipment inspections
- Maintains equipment inspection records as required.
- Works and is knowledgeable in all areas and aspects of the Bay operations.
- Procures materials and parts lists for the Bay.
- Follows company policies and procedures at all times.
- Follows proper safety rules and procedures at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS
Working with the Foreman directs work assignments for all hourly associates in the Bay.
D. QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must possess and maintain exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, techniques and blueprints related to asphalt plant equipment and related components.
- Skilled in the use and application of math skills, to include complex measurements and basic algebra.
- Skill to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a positive fashion.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills and must possess potential to learn beyond basics.
- Must be able to work satisfactorily as a team member.
