CVS Health, Digital is looking for an Inclusive Design - Tools & Automation Lead with experience working in a large, matrixed organization.
We believe everyone deserves good design and understand the importance of access and inclusion in healthcare. As a senior member of the Inclusive Design team, you will help ensure we’re delivering accessible web and native experiences by evolving our tools and automation.
Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering and shared services to continuously improve and standardize design deliverables to best meet the needs of our customers and communities.
You’ll work closely with the design system team and create new opportunities for automation.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of success delivering and maturing design processes, best practices, deliverables and tooling within a design organization.
The ideal candidate will have experience improving communication of design intent and have an understanding of the needs of engineers to best enable the development of accessible web, iOS and Android experiences.
Required Experience :
- 8+ years experience in accessibility or inclusive design
- 4+ years experience working in a centralized design accessibility role and / or experience in design system accessibility
- 2+ years experience maturing design tools and processes for accessibility
The Successful Candidate will have :
Accessibility Knowledge :
- Deep understanding of WCAG, Assistive Technology and the ability to articulate human need
- Understands the shortcomings of WCAG, WCAG’s intent and how user experience and accessibility overlap
- Deep understanding and vocal advocate of inclusive design
- Comfort in both design and technical aspects
- Widely recognized as an expert in one or more subject areas in the accessibility community
Communication Skills :
- Prompts conversations with questions, has a growth mindset
- Consistently asks meaningful and insightful questions that drive to a resolution
- Provides feedback and resources to others across the team
- Empathic listener and persuasive speaker
- Provides specific domain expertise input in team discussions
Work or Lived Experience :
- Likely to have published and be seen as an expert in a universally respected accessible forum, journal, or blog
- Exposed to an Assistive Technology, can name most ATs, can express why AT is important to people with disabilities
- Has applied experience with inclusive design

Responsibilities of the role :

- Works actively to partner with other Accessibility Designers to support their learning journeys
- Actively promotes the value of their domain expertise across the organization and offers specific training and mentoring to Colleagues interested in that domain or domains
- Influential beyond their role and known as the go to person
- May also fill a non-traditional role within the organization in user experience research and / or provide leadership and guidance based on their own lived experiences and unique insight into the world of disability
- Provide training, education, workshops, and individual review sessions throughout the design process from concept to creation to team members not versed in accessibility design
- Thinks bigger scale and finds partners for enterprise solutions
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is :
$118,450.00 - $247,200.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
