POSITION SUMMARY :

The American Council on Education (ACE) is the major coordinating body for the nation's colleges and universities. ACE is a membership organization that mobilizes the higher education community to shape effective public policy and foster innovative, high-quality practices.

With a diverse base of member institutions, ACE represents nearly 1,700 college and university presidents and executives, serving as the only major higher education association to represent all types of U.

S. accredited, degree-granting institutions. ACE's mission includes serving 280 minority serving institutions, 25,000 higher education professionals, and 7.

7 million students enrolled in colleges and universities. ACE membership extends to all 50 states, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, and 21 other countries.

ACE's People Team has an immediate opening for a motivated and professional Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist. The incumbent will touch all facets of human resources;

however, this position is primarily focused on talent acquisition that will ensure a positive experience for hiring managers and candidates.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES OR TASKS :

  • Serves as a trusted partner by driving day-to-day recruiting operations to attract and retain top talent in alignment with short and long-term business growth and needs.
  • Manages full life-cycle execution of ACE's recruiting and internal promotion processes from beginning to end including, but not limited to, initial intake, job posting, sourcing, interviewing, coordinating schedules for panel interviews, managing job offers and assisting with preboarding and onboarding activities.
  • Verifies compensation for all offers, promotions, changes in job family, etc., in accordance with established Compensation Framework.
  • Develop relationships with multiple hiring managers and business partners to serve as the subject matter expert for specialized talent acquisition to ensure a diverse talent pool is sourced, assessed, and presented for open positions.
  • Maintains OFCCP (Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs) compliance and internal efforts to promote a diverse employee population.
  • Manages partnerships with staffing agencies and assists hiring managers with their temporary staffing needs.
  • Designs and implements innovative recruitment strategies to include levering social media to attract and retain talent.
  • Plans and implements talent acquisition training.
  • Collects and analyzes data to inform People Team programs and process development and / or enhancements.
  • Develops and implements Talent surveys to enhance candidate and manager experience with the hiring process.
  • Participate and / or lead special projects and initiatives to support best-in-class recruiting practices.
  • Utilizes and enhances the UKG Recruiting Gateway to maximize its functionality, to execute a streamlined and efficient recruitment and hiring process for managers and candidates.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS :

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, psychology, sociology, or a related subject;
  • Five years of relevant on the job experience in talent acquisition;
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of staff, vendors, etc.;
  • Professional, self-motivated, and solutions oriented;
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and organize workload in a constantly changing environment to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.

Preferred Requirements :

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
  • Experience working in a higher education or association environment.
  • Experience using SharePoint, MS Forms, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive; UKG; SkillSoft; Qualtrics; Adobe Sign.

Working Conditions / Physical Effort :

This is a hybrid position with a minimum of 2 days per week at 1 Dupont Circle, Washington, DC 20036

Target Salary : $79,777-$99,721
