Position Overview
The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for providing professional, courteous, and knowledgeable customer service as well as assisting with Bids during our Bids season.
The candidate should also be proficient in all functions associated with customer service and to establish a positive and trusting relationship among our customers, broker and sales representatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage customer service e-mails to process high volume of orders from customers, brokers, and sales managers via email and fax, and EDI system.
- Gather inventory information from production to alert customers of any shorts or inventory issues. Assist customer in shipping options on these orders.
- Ensure accuracy of multi-level pricing for every customer.
- Check every order for accuracy i.e. inventory, weights, even layers / pallets and request revisions when necessary.
- Completing RFQs (Request For Quotes).
- Excellent understanding of the Tasty Brands Excel inventory / order sheet and how it works to ensure accuracy when inputting data.
- Build strong relationships with brokers, regionals and buyers to be an effective liaison.
- Be collaborative and establish strategies to assist customers.
- Assist in escalated issues being dealt with by managers and logistics.
- Set up and maintain customer accounts.
- General understanding of terms and conditions of the sale and how they impact pricing.
- Constant multi-tasking and ensuring accuracy when inputting data in Excel.
- Identify, track and resolve customer related issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 3+ years of Customer Service experience.
- Prior Bids experience highly preferred.
- Experience working in the food industry is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- VERY Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) skills.
