About the Role

Impact you will make

You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of applications and services running on the Azure cloud platform.

The role blends software engineering and systems administration practices to build and maintain scalable, reliable, and efficient cloud infrastructure.

What you will do

Technical Support : You will provide technical support and administration of the current applications and services across multiple environments, including Azure.

Use your analytical and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot complex problems and provide root-cause-analysis. Collaborate with both internal and external technical resources for problem resolution.

Take ownership of complex problems or business processes and see the implementation to completion.

Solution Oriented : A passion for identifying problems proactively and strategically driving solutions while engaging relevant resources and stakeholders.

You will not only care about problems you are solving but the quality of the solution used to solve those problems. You will use both existing tools and utilities provided and develop your own.

You will have the knowledge needed to integrate data from external sources and support seamless integration with our dynamic web applications and services.

Communication : You will use your strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with fellow team members, external vendors and technical resources across teams.

When the need arises, you will be able to communicate with customers both internal and external.

Monitoring and Incidents Response : Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting systems using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.

Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence, improve on mitigations and limit impact tot customers.

  • System Design and Architecture : Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to implement best practices for high availability, disaster recovery, and fault tolerance.
  • Automation and Tooling : Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.

Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and Terraform to manage infrastructure.

Performance Optimization : Analyze system performance and identify bottlenecks. Engage and collaborate across teams to optimize resource usage and improve application performance through tuning and scaling strategies.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline preferred with 1-3 years of applications development experience or demonstrated ability to meet job requirements through a comparable number of years of technical work experience.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages (e.g., PowerShell, C#, T-SQL) is required.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and practices (e.g., Azure Monitor) is required.
  • Experience with logging and log management tools (e.g., Log Analytics, KQL) is required.
  • Familiarity with configuration management and IaC tools (e.g. ARM, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Understanding of networking concepts.
  • Understanding and experience supporting IIS
  • Familiarity in deployment pipelines (Azure DevOps) is desired.
  • Familiarity with API development and testing tools (Soap UI, Postman)
  • Experience in development or support of web services is desired.
