Position Summary
The Department of Film and Digital Arts at the University of New Mexico, College of Fine Arts, invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Film, Animation, and Gaming History, Criticism, and Theory.
- Position begins in August 2025.
- Teaching responsibilities will include foundational and advanced courses in film, animation, and gaming history, criticism, and theory.

Film and Digital Arts offers degrees and concentrations in Film Production, Animation, Gaming, and Film History and Criticism.
Enrollment in the department is at an all-time high, with 597 majors and pre-majors registered in Fall 2024, and all students are required to engage with history, criticism, and theory.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications : . in Film Studies or a closely related field by start date of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications :
1. Record of teaching introductory and advanced courses in film history, criticism, and theory.
2. Record of teaching courses in animation history and gaming history.
3. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
