Job Description
The Inside / Outside Sales Representative is responsible for directing a total effort toward achievement of the Territory / District sales goals and objectives and selling the organization's products by interacting with established customers and developing new prospects.
The Inside / Outside Sales Representative shall always follow the course of highest integrity and adhere to the company's Standards of Conduct policy in business relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Travel throughout assigned geographic or account base territory as needed to call on established and prospective customers.
Process orders as necessary. Maintain customer sales data.
- Stay informed on new products, pricing, and other general information.
- Obtain and maintain customer contracts. Ensure proper service and follow-up on all customer accounts. Provide advice and guidance to customer based on their needs.
Handle customer problems with appropriate and prompt actions.
Develop specific sales and pricing objectives for each account. Quote selling price and credit terms for orders obtained.
Prepare sales estimates and forecasts in a timely basis with minimal variance.
- Ensure adjustments and damaged merchandise complaints are handled promptly and within company guidelines.
- Maintain daily communication with internal departments, customers, factory representatives, and other outside sources.
- Display and / or demonstrate products using samples and catalogs to emphasize.
- Develop and maintain active prospect list.
- Attend District / Regional / Branch sales meetings. Understand and analyze marketing data (i.e. Product Mix, A / R Report, Price Lists, Business Reviews).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
External Qualifications
Required : High school diploma or equivalency with a minimum of 2-3 years of applicable experience in a similar sales focused role.
Must have reliable transportation and be able to provide proof of insurance in accordance with DON's minimum coverage requirements.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Preferred : Bachelor's Degree from accredited institution with 2 years of applicable experience. SAP experience a plus.
