Summary :
The MRO Buyer / Planner would be responsible to source and purchase materials for supporting the domestic manufacturing facilities.
Materials will include MRO supplies (maintenance / repair / operations), freight, capital equipment, and corporate services.
Responsibilities :
- Source new materials as requested by Operations / R&D / Marketing / Engineering.
- Consolidate and optimize purchasing of MRO supplies.
- Assist in the implementation of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Hippo.
- Initiate request for quotes and supply agreements, where applicable, for items not already covered under purchasing agreements.
- Work with suppliers to find new and innovative methods to reduce costs and lead times, maintain, build relationships w / key suppliers.
- Set up systems to help with ordering of parts and consumables (Kanban, etc.).
- Converts W / O's in the CMMS system as required.
- Work collaboratively to improve existing purchasing policies and procedures.
- Maintain W / O backlog status in Hippo, 4-week, 8week, 12-week schedules.
- Attends and facilitates Daily / Weekly Scheduling Meetings and Maintenance huddles.
- Receive, store, and issue all hand tools, machine tools. dies. materials, and equipment to staff.
- Daily update equipment history files and other appropriate feedback in Hippo.
- Assist in requesting stock to replenish inventory as needed, perform inventory counts of spare parts and consumables.
- Estimate resources including labor, materials, equipment & services.
- Tool inspection and inventory, tool check in and out, tool marketing and cleaning, monitoring, and scheduling equipment calibration.
- Detail the scope to the required level of task detail(using single & multi-task work orders as appropriate) for multi-discipline work scopes.
- Request & receive appropriate level of technical input to fully plan the work.
Job Requirements :
- Post-secondary education- a completed degree, diploma or certificate is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of purchasing and negotiating experience
- Prior CMMS Experience is REQUIRED
- APICS , PMAC or SCMA certification is an asset
- Skilled with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Highly organized with a very strong analytical and attention to detail mindset
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and able to work with a diverse group of people
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
