Position Summary
Kelly’s Client is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their growing team as a Research Associate for their Gene Therapy Team.
This role will start on a contract basis with the potential to convert to full time. This individual will be responsible for assisting in activities related to AAV production and analytics including plasmid cloning and design, vector production, analytical testing, and laboratory management and maintenance.
The selected candidate will be contributing to pipeline progress in developing new gene therapy products through supporting of experimental plans and communicating results to the team.
The successful candidate will be collaborative, highly motivated, and possess ability the contribute to a fast-paced, passionate team.
Role And Responsibilities :
- Routine maintenance of cells and cell culture for viral production and cell-based assays.
- Production of AAV vectors and analytical testing including ddPCR, DLS, and ELISAs.
- Plasmid development including cloning and propagating plasmid DNA and routine molecular diagnostics including restriction digest analysis and sequencing.
- Overseeing general laboratory management activities including inventory management and equipment maintenance.
- Assist in design experiments and draft protocols and reports as part of a collaborative team.
- Maintain accurate and detailed experimental notes in an electronic laboratory notebook. Key Qualifications & Competencies :
- Bachelor’s in Biology, Microbiology, or related technical field strongly preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a laboratory setting performing molecular or cell-based experiments.
- Experience with plasmid cloning, propagation, and / or various nucleic acid / protein analytical techniques including, but not limited to qPCR / ddPCR, western blotting, or ELISA.
- Prior hands-on involvement with aseptic technique and adherent or suspension cell culture (mammalian preferred).
- Previous work documenting laboratory results in written or electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Proven problem-solving skills with ability to adapt in to shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work and communicate effectively within the organization.
