What You Will Do :
- As a NEPA Transportation Planner, you will participate in transportation planning, environmental documentation, public outreach, and environmental studies for transportation related projects.
- Work towards obtaining TxDOT precertification work category 2.14.1 and other related TxDOT environmental precertification work categories
- Typical projects include Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and local government roadway improvements, corridor studies, pedestrian and bicycle plans, and federal environmental documents.
- As part of job, you will be expected to complete technical analyses, write sections of reports / memos, assist in the development of materials for the public and governmental agencies, and provide assistance as directed by senior staff.
- You must be able to clearly communicate ideas both verbally and in writing.
- Conduct business development to secure new clients and projects.
- Retain and manage relationships with existing clients and external stakeholders across a range of businesses.
- Respond to RFPs and build teams internally and with partner firms.
- Work independently to lead multidisciplinary teams on complex projects, of varying size, on time sensitive schedules. This includes managing multiple projects and teams.
What You Will Bring :
The successful candidate will have :
- A bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, transportation, urban planning, civil engineering, or related field from an accredited program.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.
- 10 years of experience including a minimum of 5 years in environmental transportation planning.
- Strong, sophisticated writing skills and excellent public presence in front of small groups and large audiences.
- Leadership skills as part of a team.
- Experience in building rapport and trust with key clients, business leaders, and team members.
- Experience developing, negotiating, and managing scopes, schedules, and budgets.
