Commercial Roofing Estimator

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. We are looking for someone who can take data gathered by our technicians, perform all necessary calculations, obtain supplier quotes, write proposals, and communicate with customers to bring in business for our company.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial roof estimating. Bonus points for experience in bidding commercial maintenance work and solar.

We can offer entirely remote work or hybrid work with the option to visit clients and job sites. We can provide a company truck and credit card if the Estimator / PM will be visiting clients to obtain more business.

We can offer a generous base salary and commission for the right candidate. If you are an experienced PM or Estimator with your own book of business to bring with you, we want you on our team.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Estimator in commercial roofing
• Familiarity with Los Angeles and Southern California building codes
• Extensive knowledge of commercial roofing and maintenance practices, procedures and techniques as well as applicable local, state and federal building codes and legislation
• Strong communication skills; thorough and attentive to details
• Able to prioritize, multi-task, time management, be proactive, and deadline / detailed oriented
• Must possess strong negotiation skills
• Ability to closely collaborate with other project teams and stakeholders
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to provide conceptual estimates from historic data
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must be familiar with general contracting procedures
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
• Knowledge of construction estimating and scheduling practices
• Must demonstrate managerial skills appropriate with this position
• Must be PC proficient
• Software Skills :
• Estimating with software's like EDGE software or similar to
• Budget, Change Orders, RFIs

Responsibilities

• Primarily single-ply re-roof but also shingles, metal, and tile roof estimation and management.
• Experience estimating repairs and service work for commercial repairs.
• The Estimator / Project Manager reports directly to the CEO.
• Completing pre-construction cost estimates
• Preparing contract bids
• Project estimates
• Submittals
• Cost Analysis
• Pricing labor and materials
• Vendor management
• Change order processing
• TPO, EPDM, PVC, Metals, Shingles and more
• Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers
• Develop and maintain relationships with Clients and follow their protocols
• Work with Managers to understand scope of work and translate into estimating process
• Ability to solve client concerns and speak expertly on the solution

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $90,000.00 - $1,500,000.00 per year
