Job Description

Summary :

The Inventory Control Specialist's main function will be to support the Purchasing team and monitor / perform the operational activities within the Storeroom.

Working closely with peers to resolve inventory challenges and find solutions that will improve the overall operation of the department and mill are also key aspects to this role.

This position reports directly to the Purchasing Supervisor.

Essential Functions :

  • Performs the daily activity of inventory control, purchasing and replenishing stock parts, pulling and receiving orders, requesting quotes , and other purchasing activities.
  • Audits inventory information for accuracy.
  • Interacts with internal customers to provide expeditious customer service.
  • Performs and reviews cycle counts.
  • Researches and analyzes discrepancies and resolves them.
  • Monitors and processes all inbound receipts to ensure they are correct and carried out promptly.
  • Develops, implements and maintains inventory control procedures and processes jointly with the Purchasing Team.
  • Develop and implement strategies and procedures for effective control of materials.
  • Ensures the development and implementation of action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain storeroom and warehouse order, cleanliness, keep-fill and store stock items and labeling.
  • Pick up parts in the Spokane area as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of high school diploma, secondary education preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience with materials / inventory control or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Competent math and computer skills (MS Office) and experience with MRP / ERP programs, JD Edwards preferred.
  • APICS or other inventory certifications desired.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 -50 lbs.
  • Valid Drivers License.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug / alcohol screening and background check.

Additional Information

  • The Inventory Control Specialist is a salaried non-exempt position. Pay range is $40,000 to $50,000 per year depending on experience and education.
  • Inland Empire Paper Company continues to offer excellent benefits to employees and their families including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, 13 paid holidays per year and 2 weeks of vacation to start (pro-rated first year based on hire date).
