Your Role : Instrumentation & Controls Technician

As a B / C Instrumentation & Controls Technician, you’ll be at the forefront of technological innovation and operational excellence. Your role will involve :

  • Precision Maintenance : Perform essential maintenance, calibration, repairs, testing, and commissioning to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all instrumentation and control devices within the Power Plant Complex.
  • Accuracy and Compliance : Conduct compliance audits and calibrations, guaranteeing that our records and reports are accurate and up to date.
  • Innovation and Upgrades : Make significant repairs or modifications to upgrade current equipment, keeping our facilities on the cutting edge of technology.
  • Emergency Response : Be the hero in emergency situations, implementing corrective measures to ensure continuous operation and safety.

LI-AW1 Minimum Qualifications Technical Expertise : Proficiency in testing, troubleshooting, assessing, calibrating, repairing, and commissioning various types of instrumentation and controls, including digital, analog, and pneumatic systems.

System Knowledge : Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).

Discrete Controls : Ability to work with and maintain discrete control systems.

Instrumentation Skills : Competence in handling a range of instrumentation including transmitters, transducers, meters, and controllers.

Preferred Qualifications Computer Proficiency : High fluency in working with computers, essential for the position’s strong computer utilization demands.

Electronics Expertise : Proficiency in both digital and analog electronics.

Programming Skills : Ability to program various types of control systems.

Logic Circuits : Thorough understanding of logic circuits, including both ladder and statement logic.

Technical Knowledge : Proficiency in reading schematics and blueprints.

Troubleshooting Ability : Skill in troubleshooting circuits under both normal and abnormal operating conditions.

Power Plant Knowledge : Understanding the theory and operation of steam boilers, steam turbines, electric generators, and all related Power Plant equipment.

Test Equipment Operation : Ability to operate test equipment, including but not limited to digital multi-meters, analyzers, power supplies, function generators, signal conditioners, oscilloscopes, and logic probes.

Desirable Background : Candidates trained in Navy Nuclear Power are highly desirable.

  • Specialized Training : Training and competency with the Emerson Delta V DCS platform.
